🎯 The Role

We are looking for a Tech-Savvy Accountant who combines solid Austrian accounting expertise (UGB) with a curiosity for automation.

In this role, you will be based in our Vienna office (with hybrid flexibility) and own the day-to-day accounting for our Austrian entities. However, we are not looking for a „data entry“ accountant. We are looking for someone who proactively uses technology, including AI tools, to work smarter, faster, and more accurately.

🛠 What You’ll Do

• Execute end-to-end bookkeeping and month-end closing for Austrian entities (UGB), validating automated data feeds and focusing your manual effort only on complex accruals and quality control.
• Prepare Austrian VAT returns (UVA) and statutory filings, acting as a contact person for external tax advisors and utilizing AI tools to assist in drafting correspondence.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and assist with the conversion to IFRS where necessary.
• Oversee global billing and manage the reconciliation logic between our billing engine and bank feeds, investigating only the exceptions that the system flags rather than manually matching every transaction.
• Incorporate AI-assisted tools into your daily workflow to speed up research, data formatting, and communication drafting.
• Actively identify manual bottlenecks in our finance processes and propose automated solutions or smoother workflows to reduce repetitive Excel work.

🙌 What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional experience in Austrian accounting (UGB) is mandatory; you need a strong foundation to know what to automate.
• A comfort with new software and a mindset that embraces technology, ideally having experimented with AI tools to speed up your own work.
• Solid experience with BMD (NTCS), with familiarity with SaaS billing tools or spend management software being a strong plus.
• A detail-oriented approach that prioritizes efficiency, preferring to build a clean process over doing the same manual task twice.
• Fluent German (C1/C2) and strong English (C1) skills.
